We also lecture on risk and compliance matters, including, referral arrangements, the Solicitors’ Code of Conduct, risk and reputation management; our speakers regularly speak for Law Societies and other professional groups around the country. Our Operations Partner is Chairman of the Regulatory Affairs Committee of Manchester Law Society.
Recent cases in which we have been involved include:
- Acting for the management partner of a large legal practice following one of the largest ever interventions by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA). This matter arose from a multi million pound accounting shortfall, together with numerous alleged breaches of the Solicitors Code of Conduct. The case gave rise to widespread media attention.
- Acting for a well known Barrister alleged to have misappropriated significant sums from his Chambers.
- Advising a Solicitor for alleged accounting failures following intervention into his practice.
- Acting for a Solicitor alleged to have misled the Police in a criminal investigation.
