Police Discipline

We are extremely proud to have acted as the sole appointed Solicitors for the PSAEW for the past 18 years. We advise Superintendents on disciplinary and criminal issues and represent them in misconduct or criminal tribunals and at Coroners’ Inquests. We also advise on employment, defamation, judicial review and civil issues. Many cases in which we have been involved continue to have far reaching national consequences on legislation and policy.

Examples of recent cases in which we have been instructed include:

  • The ongoing investigation into the death of Raoul Moat;
  • The Inquests into the deaths of Diana, Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed;
  • The Stephen Lawrence Inquiry;
  • The Deepcut Army Barracks investigations;
  • The Inquest into the death of Stephen Lubbock (the Michael Barrymore case);
  • The Victoria Climbie, Marchioness and Stirland Inquiries;
  • The 2003 defence of former Chief Superintendent Ali Dizaei who was acquitted of numerous charges;
