Tom Condliff Recovering Well After Life Saving Surgery

I am delighted that my client and friend Tom Condliff is recovering well following life saving surgery.

I had the privilege of acting for Tom in his flight to secure the Gastric Bypass operation against North Staffordshire PCT in the High Court, Court of Appeal and in the Application to the Supreme Court earlier this year. The case against the PCT concerns the correct application of Article 8 of the Human Rights Act (right to a private and family life) in healthcare commissioning decisions.

The case now continues in the European Court of Human Rights where we hope to show that social factors should be taken into account by Primary Care Trusts when making life and death decisions about funding operations.
